On October 5, 2021, DeSantis Homes, Salit Steel, and Rosart Properties hosted the grand opening of the Casablanca Corporate Centre, a new state-of–the-art AAA office building in Grimsby. Located at 13 Windward Dr. between DeSantis Homes’ AquaBlu Condominium and the QEW,the 5-storey building features 60,000 square feet of office/commercial space and a rooftop patio, and is the first of its kind to come to Grimsby. “It was such a pleasure to attend the Casablanca Corporate Centre grand opening to celebrate Grimsby’s first AAA office space,” said Harry Schlange, Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Grimsby. “The Casablanca Corporate Centre helps achieve a greater jobs to housing balance which helps the Town financially, reduces automobile dependency, and ensures we are delivering a complete community to Grimsby residents,” said Antonietta Minichillo, Director of Planning, Building and By-law.
This new development, which broke ground in 2018, adds to the growing Grimsby on the Lake neighbourhood and is guaranteed to help bring tremendous economic growth and employment opportunities to residents both within Grimsby and across Niagara Region. DeSantis Homes and, as of Fall 2021, Salit Steel, welcome a total of 80 full-time employees that have already relocated their headquarters to Casablanca Corporate Centre. In the new year, the centre will welcome Portage M&A Advisory and their 6 employees currently located in Ancaster.
The building location offers exceptional access to the QEW and the proposed GO Train station as well as the GO Bus stop that is minutes away, allowing for convenient commuter access to both the Toronto and Niagara regions. “We are happy to officially welcome DeSantis Homes to Grimsby,” said Mayor Jeff Jordan. “This project has been eagerly anticipated for years, and we look forward to realizing the positive economic multiplier effects that will come with this new office space.”
