In a powerful display of community solidarity, DeSantis Homes hosted its much-anticipated “Walk a Mile in HER Shoes” fundraiser on October 18, 2024, officially kicking off the event ahead of a triumphant gathering at the Pen Centre on October 19th 2024. Joined by Grimsby councilors and local supporters, the DeSantis Homes team donned heels, walked with purpose, and rallied in support of Gillian’s Place. The walk reached its heartfelt finale with the presentation of a symbolic $25,000 cheque to Gillian’s Place.
This event goes beyond fundraising or raising awareness. At DeSantis Homes, there’s a deep commitment to amplifying survivor voices and actively working to prevent gender-based violence. Through continuous support of initiatives that uplift women and children in the community, Gillian’s Place brings a vision of a stronger, safer, and more inclusive future to life. Over the past five years of #WAM participation, the DeSantis Homes team has raised over $300,000—an achievement made possible by the generous contributions and support of everyone involved.
