The past 2 years have been years of tremendous growth for Homes By DeSantis, not only have we sold more than ever, over 500 units since 2017, but 2018 in particular was a year of unprecedented Construction starts.
On the Ridge Phase 2 was started and completed in 2018 with 73 residences, of which now are almost all being called home by our purchasers. We will be bringing another 150 Towns in the third phase of this development in the fall of 2019, so be sure to stay tuned for more information on this highly anticipated development.
We have broken ground on AquaZul with 342 residences now under construction, this building will be the largest condominium ever built by Homes By DeSantis, and was named mid-rise project of the year by the HHHBA. This building was our second in Grimsby after the critically acclaimed AquaBlu proved we are a condo developer to be reckoned with – winning Most Outstanding Mid-Rise building through both provincial and National Associations and now we are nominated for the Most Outstanding Wood Building in North America after winning a recent National competition. This building will yet again feature a custom commissioned art piece, as we believe art has an important place in the lives of our home buyers. We have to sincerely thank our partners at KNYMH for their tireless efforts for both of these building as they truly brought our vision to life, they too are true artists.
In November we broke ground on 2 exciting projects; Myst a combined 136 units which will be built over the next year. The second phase of this project will be an exciting 6 story mid-rise building that will feature 140 residences targeted to first time buyers and young professionals, coming to market early spring of 2019.
The second community to see the ground move is Centreville, in Beamsville (a project that was sold out in less than a month). We started stripping land at the beginning in of November with hard construction to begin this spring.
For new projects that are still in planning for release this year we have the already famous Century Condos coming to Downtown Grimsby with 92 Boutique condo residences and high end ground floor commercial – looking to launch in the fall of 2019. As well as the Heritage Burgess Estate land in Grimsby where we will be building a first of its kind mid-rise project incorporating a Heritage home and 200 year old tree into the overall development – it’s history in the “re”-making
Last but certainly not least is the exciting progress with our NEW head office and 60,000 sqft Commercial Centre – Casablanca Corporate Centre. We will breaking ground in January and hope to call this space home by the end of 2019.
It’s not just about the future inside our four walls, we believe in supporting the futures of the communities in which we build. This is why Homes By DeSantis donated over $90,000 to construct a new pedestrian bridge at the waterfront in Grimsby along with a $100,000 donation to the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital foundation.
2019 year will mark 60 years in business for Homes By DeSantis and will culminate in our change of address to our new Corporate Centre in Grimsby. Our new office signifies the dawn of a new era for Homes By DeSantis. While always remaining true to our motto “The Mark of Excellence” we are changing along with the building landscape. Shifting our attentions to the construction of smart spaces, with efficient building design through master planned communities & infill projects, constructing more mid-rise and high rise developments. The future of Homes By DeSantis is looking up.
