Bringing Art Home – Developer Call to Artists for Lakeshore Condo Project

It’s been said that life imitates art, we all search out beauty in our daily lives looking for the simplistic grace that nature and our surroundings have to offer. We look for it in our own personal space as well as the communities we call home. Living is about expression and enjoying every moment to the fullest. This notion is the guiding principle behind the new Lakeshore Condominium Community AquaBlu, currently being brought to market by Homes by DeSantis.

When touring the condominium markets of Miami, Homes by DeSantis was inspired by the southern penchant for art and sculpture incorporated into their daily lives. Deciding to carry this theme north Homes by DeSantis has recently released a Call to Artists, open to any sculptural artist living in Southern Ontario.  President, Gabriel DeSantis had this to say about his decision to bring the arts to his new building; “It’s not just about turning a key and spending your time inside your condo, it’s about residing in a building with spaces to enjoy beyond your four walls. We want to make AquaBlu about the beauty of living well, and that means art and amenities that surpass the customer expectation of what the condo lifestyle means.” The exterior sculpture will serve as an entry feature to building, positioned in the central roundabout in front of the main foyer.

This new development will inspire at every turn with 120 Condominium Residences and an exclusive release of 4 Townhomes, starting from an unbelievable $189,900. Modeled after the boutique hotels in South Beach Miami the interior will be crafted by the dynamic team at Tomas Pearce Interior Design Consulting of Toronto. This design firm brings global style, sophistication and elegance to everything they touch. Their mark will be seen in each suite but also the outstanding building amenity areas including a sprawling sky lounge terrace, the soaring 2 storey lobby, fitness and yoga centre, the club room and a games room.

The Call to Artists will be conducted in two stage competition format. A jury will review and select finalists from among the submissions received from all proponents.  The jury will be comprised of local officials in Grimsby including the curator of the Grimsby Art gallery as well as representatives from Homes by DeSantis. Proponents are asked to submit 5-8 photographs labelled with the name, title, dimensions of the comparable work, and the orientation of the image, as well as a detailed description and sketch of the design concept for the new sculpture.   Full details of all requirements to submit can be found on the Homes by DeSantis website at. https://desantishomes.com/2015/03/aquablu-art-rfp/.
