As you prepare for your design studio appointment, keep these tips in mind to make sure the process goes as smoothly as possible.
Get inspired! The first step in your design process should be the gathering of inspiration. Pulling together everything that you have been collecting online or in magazines. Once you’ve scoured your favorite sites and have a good idea of what you would like to see in your new home, create a vision board for each of the main rooms and one overall board that encompasses the look and feel that you want. This will give us a sneak peak into your personal style and the essence of what you desire for your new home.
Know your budget! Upgrades can prove costly if you’re unsure of your wants and needs. It is important to prioritize upgrades. For example, you may be certain that you’ll need a shaker style white kitchen, Quartz countertops throughout, large format tiles and black hardware in your master bathroom! Understanding the difference between standard features and finishes versus what is available as an upgrade will also help in determining your budget. Keeping your “must haves” versus your “nice to haves” in list format can help organize ideas and most importantly help budget for them.
